I am interested in the experimental syntheses of different mediums and specialties. I work with print, text, poetry, video, installation and book production within the fields of artmaking, curation & publishing. Keyed into modalities of archiving, returning and riffing my work is characterised by a lo-fi immediacy and emergence determined by the materials, processes and tools close to hand.
I like to take advantage of what transpires in the drift; my term for a continuous handshake between the analogue and the digital, moving media in and out, back and through platforms, formats, devices and machines. In this way the image turns and turns – continually recomposed – a mirror to our own continual recomposition as we move between the real and irreal. Through this process-oriented drift I aim for a certain kind of looking, thinking of Italo Calvino’s unhinged eye of the mind, that strange vision that sometimes sees further than our blurry, customary eyesight. – a view with which we may better comprehend the space and time we occupy, awash in both sun and screen-light as our humanness confronts technological advancement and mythological planetary change.
My formal background is in Fashion(BA). The fields integral understanding of construction informs the production of the various objects or realia that I produce, most often in the form of artist books. For this purpose I run a lo-fi bindery and publishing practice producing irreverent experiments in book-craft. This same practice, on occasion both produces and publishes small editions of original literature, while offering professional typesetting services.
