Accepted into SESSIONS in February 2022, I spent seven months navigating my developing practice under the invaluable guiding hand of Dominique Edwards – visual artist, lecturer and SESSIONS mentor.
The programme fundamentally altered my art making by demonstrating – through an exquisite and continued attention – how to set up both an active practice and an active relationship with it.
Within an extended moment of play and reflection, I came to know how to better think, write, form and shape my conceptual intention. Essentially I learnt how to return to my practice day after day, to find what is waiting for me there.
The period culminated in a group show titled Thresholds. On view was the work and workings developed throughout the programme.
